Bradford Enviroseal Weather Barrier exceeds the James Hardie Specification
James Hardie Change to Weather Barrier Requirements behind Lightweight Clad
James Hardie only allow the use of weather barriers that are classified as ‘Water Barrier’ and vapour permeable in BCA Climate Zone 2 to 8 or vapour barrier in BCA Climate Zone 1.
This means that ‘Non-Water Barrier’ sarkings are not suitable for use behind James Hardie Lightweight Cladding, including Thermoseal Wall Breather, in BCA Climate Zone 2 to 8. The classification table published by James Hardie in May 2019 outlines that all wall wrap products used behind James Hardie cladding in BCA Climate Zone 2 to 8 must be classified as a ‘Water Barrier’ and ‘Class 3 or 4 Vapour Permeable’.
