Optimo - Final piece of the puzzle

Optimo the final piece of the puzzle

Optimo has been designed by CSR Bradford to complement the existing energy efficiency range of Bradford solutions for the home.

Homes with well-insulated ceilings and walls could still be losing as much as 15-20% of their heating and cooling energy use through their suspended timber sub-floor, costing the home owner money and increasing greenhouse gas emissions.

Optimo retro-fit, which can be easily fitted in timber floors after a home is built and is installed from underneath the house, between the floor joists, fixed in place with Optimo straps. The insulation has been developed so it is rigid enough to hold itself in place between the joists, but soft enough to be easily manipulated and installed.

Optimo for new homes, which blitzes the competition as the highest thermally rated sub-floor insulation product on the market, has a maximum R-value of R2.5, ensuring that installation will result in the best improvement in energy efficiency and home comfort.

Sound can enter your home anywhere that air is also able to enter, so external noise can be transferred through your floor. Optimo is manufactured from glasswool making it an excellent sound absorber. Bradford Optimo can actually reduce sound transmission through the floor by up to 6dB. Not only will it help reduce noise entering your home from outside, it will also dampen the sound of foot traffic on timber floors.

Glasswool is also a very popular insulation material for fire protection in buildings, as it does not burn or contribute to the spread of flame. This is good news for any home in bushfire prone areas, as installing Optimo could save vital minutes in the event of a fire.

Peter Ruz, Bradford Marketing Manager spoke recently of how Bradford is providing homeowners with premium products in the residential market. According to Peter,

“A home with a suspended timber floor experiences heating and cooling loss, by as much as 15%, and by installing sub-floor insulation homeowners can improve the heating and cooling energy efficiency of a poorly designed house by as much as 80%, if installed in conjunction with wall, ceiling, ventilation and window and door seals”.

“DIY homeowners can now easily install this insulation themselves with Optimo retro-fit. This saves them both money on installation and reduced heating and cooling costs for their home.”

“Optimo for new homes is also easier to install than other products and being the only sub-floor insulation to provide thermal, acoustic and fire resistance properties, there is a great benefit to builders and home owners alike.”

“We’re excited about the launch of Bradford Optimo sub-floor insulation as it gives more back to the green conscious property owner, and makes it easier for the builder”.
