Bradford welcomes final insulation guidelines

The Homeowner Insulation Program and the Low Emission Assistance Plan for Renters was first introduced early this year as part of the Federal Government’s $4 billion commitment to improving household energy efficiency.

Under this package, installers will now receive their payments direct from the Government so householders will only need to meet any costs above the amount of Government assistance.

“Bradford Insulation congratulates the government on achieving an excellent set of final guidelines following extensive industry consultation,” said Ray Thompson, Bradford Group Marketing Manager. “This home insulation program is an excellent initiative to improve energy efficiency of Australian homes and generate jobs.

“As a leading and trusted manufacturer with over 75 years of experience, Bradford Insulation has high quality manufacturing plants here in Australia.  Bradford’s Comfortchoice Training Program launched in 2008 ensures the network of accredited installers across the country are rigorously trained to deliver the highest quality installation that will maximise the effectiveness and longevity of householder’s insulation.

“Bradford can also help to with the free Bradford Comfortchoice website program, which navigates consumers through a range of energy efficient products available so they can make an informed choice on how comfortable and energy efficient they want their homes and how to actively reduce their carbon footprint by being more environmentally responsible,” Ray said.

“Bradford sees this stimulus scheme as an excellent boost to the economy and the environment.

“Combined with other Federal and State government stimulus packages such as the Schools Program, Public and Defense Housing and the First Home Buyers Grant, we are experiencing tremendous demand for insulation products driving jobs in the industry and economy generally.

“We’re working hard to supply demand and meet this new challenge, already upgrading manufacturing plants, running factories 24/7 and boosting local employment, having now recruited 70 additional staff nationally, in addition to the many other jobs created downstream in sales and distribution” Ray said.
