Bradford Fibertex HD is a high density industrial insulation for use in applications where high compressive resistance is required. It is a heavy duty thermal and acoustic insulation suitable for continuous operation up to 450oC.
Bradford Fibertex HD Rockwool is a robust ultra high density insulation product with superior resistance to compression. It is manufactured by spinning a molten mixture of natural rock and recycled products into fine wool like fibres which are bonded together using a thermosetting resin. The product can be identified by its dark green/black appearance.
Applications
Fibertex HD can be used in applications where operating temperatures do not exceed 450˚C that require high compression resistance. It is suitable for use for process temperature control, energy conservation, condensation prevention, acoustic absorption treatment, control of vibration and personnel protection from plant and equipment. Typical applications include;
- Vibration damping in walls, floors and other structural elements.
Bradford Fibertex HD is easily installed by impaling the batts on weld pins and securing with speed clips. Alternatively, the insulation may be retained by metal bands, wire mesh, or expanded metal. Due to the semi-rigid nature of Fibertex HD, it does not easily conform to curved surfaces. Slitting, kerfing or cutting into segments may be necessary for installation.
A weatherproof finish such as aluminum cladding is recommended. Where a short term weather proof finish is required, use Bradford ThermofoilTM Facing.
On small vessels the insulation may be simply retained by wire mesh or metal bands.
